Our website does not enable our visitors to communicate with other visitors or to post information to be accessed by other visitors.
Automatic Collection of Information
We do not store data about visitors to our website except that which a customer provides by registering with us, ordering goods or services from us, communicating with us, shopping in our online store, or applying for a corporate account with us.
Information Collection and Purpose; Opt-Out Feature
We collect the personal data that a customer may volunteer while using our website to register with us, shop in our online bookstore, or otherwise communicate with us. Types of personal data that we collect from the customer include contact information (e.g., name, address, e-mail address, phone number, and firm), credit card and ID verification information, profession, type of organization, preferences as to communications from us, and order information and other communications with us. Additionally, we may collect other personal data (e.g., your IP address) that we determine reasonably necessary to perform or supervise the following functions with respect to the customer: customer registration; taking, fulfilling or shipping orders; billing, collection, or processing of payments for our goods and services; sending product announcements or special offers; communicating with the customer regarding the above matters; resolving the customer's inquiries or requests; enforcing our intellectual property or other legal rights or defending claims against us; or responding to subpoenas and or other legal requirements for disclosure. We use your personal data for these purposes. We offer the customer the ability to opt out of receiving promotional e-mails from us containing product announcements or special offers by checking or unchecking the appropriate box during the checkout process. We may also collect non-personally identifiable information such as the type of browser used by the customer, Internet service providers used, pages accessed on our website, and aggregate data. We use this information to improve our website and our goods and services.
We do not gather information about our customers from sources other than the customer, its affiliates and their respective employees and agents except in the following instances.
To access personal data collected from you as part of customer registration or your pending shopping cart, please Login to your Readable Press Account and click on either Review/Edit account information or Shopping cart, as applicable. Following successful login, we will provide you online without charge with a readable copy of such personal data. Note that if you enter your credit card number, it will not be displayed back to you in its entirety; rather, you will see only the first or last four digits.
We do not represent or warrant that we will retain your personal data for any particular period of time. For example, we periodically purge inactive accounts, information regarding non-current orders, and the like.
If we wish to use your personal data for a new purpose, we offer you the means to consent to this new purpose:
Certain organizations such as law firms, accounting firms, government agencies, and university bookstores may, however, apply for a corporate account with Readable Press. Once approved by us, a corporate account may be used to place orders without use of the online shopping cart. This would avoid our placing cookies on your computer. To apply for a corporate account, please complete one of the following applications: Law Firm, Accounting Firm, or Corporate Legal or Tax Department application; or University or Government Agency application.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We disclose our customers' personal data to Readable Press parties and our independent contractors who in our opinion have a reasonable need to access such information for the purpose of performing or supervising any of the following functions: customer registration; taking, fulfilling or shipping orders; billing, collection, or processing of payments for our goods and services; sending product announcements or special offers; communicating with customers regarding the above matters; resolving customers' inquiries or requests; enforcing our intellectual property or other legal rights or defending claims against us; or responding to subpoenas or other legal requirements for disclosure.
As indicated, we employ independent contractors to perform some of the above functions on our behalf. Examples include our contractors who perform Web hosting, book order fulfillment, shipping, and website maintenance. In particular credit card information is processed through Yahoo! and the bank performing credit card processing services for us. Such independent contractors and Readable Press Parties who have access to your personal data are obliged to respect the confidentiality of our customers' personal data.
We do not sell or license your personal data to other parties. We reserve the right to share aggregate data with other parties.

Such safeguards comply with federal regulations to protect personal data. For additional details regarding such security measures, please visit Security at Yahoo!.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. As part of our Terms of Sale, we require that the customer when placing an order represent among other things that the customer is not an individual under the age of 18. Aside from requiring this representation and a representation regarding the customer's profession, we do not take any steps specifically designed to protect the privacy of children.
